Hiding from the heat.
Well, as a heatwave begins to descend upon us, it's prolly a good time for me to begin getting ready for this summer. Daamn, it looks like it might actually be rather fun. I have a few classes (read three) over the course of this summer, but managed to regulate them to Tuesdays and Thursdays only. I am going to be working two days during the week at Raceway, but that's not something I'm all that upset for... because I negotiated my way to having Fridays and most Saturdays off. The only major downside... my wings have been clipped and I have to move home for the summer (and the following year) while I work to finish school. Monetarily, this is a good idea . . . but damn is it a swift kick in the shin for my pride and my freedom. Ah well.
Going to Minneapolis in June.
Going to Chicago in July
Going to Florida in August . . . St. Augustine and most likely a little time spent in Miami.

About Ned
Isabel realized that it wasn't that her friends wanted her to be unhappy; they just had never liked Ned. None of them appeared to. She understood that from the moment she had even entertained dating him once more. It was for that reason that she had even avoided speaking to a few of them: because she wanted to see where things went without their opinions tainting her own. She wanted to see if this was something that she wanted to work out. She learned that it was not. She also learned that Ned had a slightly misogynistic side to him that had not been entirely evident during their first meetings. She learned that a man who only wants a woman as a mother is not going to treat her very well in the end. She realized that a man who was more obsessed with having a baby than actually raising the child would never prove to be a suitable boyfriend for her.
For Ned it was about the having and not actually working at it that excited him. He wanted the family, but he didn't want to take the time and effort it would take to actually make himself a successful father. Instead he was auditioning candidates that would come in and take on the responsibility of raising three children: His daughter, his new child with the lucky lady, and himself.
Isabel realized that she was not ready to sell herself short for a man that was never going to be ready to play an equal partner to their relationship.
The lengthy diatribe he had left on her voicemail also factored into her decision to never speak with Ned again.
