Countries where Gay Marriage is Currently Allowed: The Netherlands (THE FIRST), Belgium, Canada, Norway, South Africa and Spain.
Spain was the first country to recognize same-sex marriage as being equal under the SAME law and terms, including in cases of adoption.
States where Gay Marriage is Currently Allowed: Massachusetts and California
On the ballot for the 2008 election is Proposistion 8, which seeks to strike down the Supreme Court's decision to allow gay marriage and redefine marriage is existing only between men and women.
States with Civil Unions: Vermont, Connecticut, New Jersey and New Hampshire.
** Almost equal, but not there yet. Not given the same rights under the federal government, which is what transforms this beyond a states rights issue.
States with Domestic Parternship Laws: Oregon
** Grants all the rights and responsibilites of marriage within state boundaries.<br>
States with Limited Benefits: Maine, Washington, the District of Columbia, and Hawaii

GLBT History Month
October is not only Breast Cancer and AIDS awareness month, but GLBT history month. An entire month AND the best holiday of the year. They must have decided that the Trannys were already dressing up, they might as well make it a month-long super event. So I am going to do my best to hit you with GLBT related factoids every day of this month in celebration.
We'll see how well this turns out. BTW, the winding road is most likely going to be moving to it's own separate blog (although it'll still be linked here). I just didn't want the damn thing flooded with soap operas and me unable to do things like... annoying music videos of Mr. T and GLBT facts! Sweetness!
I am going to start first with my own gay icon, Miss Aguilera. Check out that uber hot cover to her greatest hits albulm that's dropping this fall! FIERCE! She's all like Invader from Space, SCIFI greatness... Included on the cd will of course be faves like Genie, What a Girl Wants, and the GLBT uber inclusive Beautiful, which won her many a GLAAD praise for its inclusion of GLBT issues in the video.
