January 16, 2010 04:36 PM British Crush.

Home. It was a pretty good time in Florida. Emily is one of the most agreeable people you could spend a week with. Plus, I met someone. Not needing to get into the whole story at the moment, I managed to score what I thought was going to be just a drink... but ended up being a pretty good time for a few days. To the point where I'm actually rather bummed right now. To have come back from vacation and also because... I haven't had that good of a time with a dude in a long time. And by the last day, when he was being adorably cute and holding hands, I was surprised by my own realization that I was crushing. I really honestly like this kid. And while I know he said that he liked the idea of visiting, who knows if it'll happen. So I was depressed by the idea that something that was really fun is over.

January 11, 2010 07:13 AM R&R before Life.

I am off for a few days to DisneyWorld. Time to refresh, recoup, then come back energized and ready to do what needs to get done. By this time next week, I'll be a day away from student teaching. The rest of my life now lies before me. Craziness.

January 10, 2010 11:24 AM Action of the day.

Contact Senator Steve Sweeny, who is our incoming Senate President and new Democractic majority leader. He unseated Senator Codey this year, something that he was hailed for as an "agent of change". Well this agent took the cowards way out on Thursday. He didn't vote against the measure that would have brought marriage equality to NJ... but then again he didn't vote for it either. Rather than going on record for or against, the man took the coward's way out and abstained. A vote that affects the rights of citizens in his state and the man who is supposed to be the NEW LEADER of the New Jersey Senate Body couldn't bring himself to vote.

"I regret it," he said later. "This is a civil rights issue, and they made a good case. Sometimes, you just make mistakes."

The mistake was thinking that by not voting, he could somehow sneak by. Sweeny claims that he wanted to be that deciding vote, the final one to bring equality to our side.

Instead, Senator, you are simply a coward. The elections are not that far off. I will see that you, like that hypocrite Senator Sean Kean, are unseated in this election cycle. Good day, sir.
