June 18, 2010 04:14 PM Aaron (Emmerdale) = New Television Obsession.

Thanks to After Elton I have oftentimes found myself falling in love with television shows from across the pond. First there was Holyoakes, where I couldn't get enough of Craig and John Paul. Then there was (and still is) Fisica o Quimica, which follows the lives of Spanish teens but with a cute focus on out Fer (and now boyfriend David). Now there is Emmderdale stealing my heart. You really have to watch the episodes to appreciate why Jackson kissing Aaron today was a huge thing... but come on, they are adorable together! Click the link to catch up on Aaron's story.

June 16, 2010 02:11 PM Prop8: Oh Sure, It's not About Hate.

(The Attorney for Prop 8 Supporters) said that his clients are not asking for a complete nullification of the marriages, but one where state agencies, courts, and businesses would not have to legally recognize the marriages. So what would be the difference? So they would still have the title? And this isn't about hate? They have gone from saying they want to keep the laws on the books to saying they want to now remove the status from people.

June 14, 2010 11:40 AM Song of the Week: Drake's "Find Your Love"

Drake steps away from rapping and takes on the use of a synthesizer to produce this track. But I love it. Every single moment. Not just because of my incredible crush on the hotness that is Aubrey Drake Graham , but this is a smooth song that has the potential to be a sleeper, summer jam. Hey-Hey-Hey indeed. Drake walks away from the more bombastic horns of his other hits and actually flows towards what Kayne pulled with 808s and Heartbreak: A surprisingly tender song that ditches the rhymes, while using 80's beats to make good music.

Choice lyrics in the opening: I'm more than just an option / Refuse to be forgotten / I took a chance with my heart / And I feel it taking over / I better find your love and I better find your heart

I bet if I give all my love then nothing's gonna tear us apart

June 13, 2010 12:37 PM Another string cut.

For my stepmother's 50th birthday (and a late birthday celebration for my father), we traveled to St. Augustine last night. This is one of my favorite cities in the United States. There is so much history tied up in St. Auggy (granted, it claims to be the oldest city in the United States), but the charm lies in the restaurants and the nightlife. Small little streets with little eateries built into what were once homes. Musicians playing on the streets, a young crowd meandering about, the sense that there is art thriving. Just a nice way to spend an evening. My parents ended up retiring at the Penny Farthing Inn, which by all indications was a beautiful evening. Which was good, because I had once paid a good deal of money to stay there myself. Alas, things don't always go as planned.

When leaving this morning they asked if I wanted to go inside. I declined. To me that represents a weekend of failed promise. To say that I am still slightly hung up over things with the Brit would be... justified. Is it easier to hold unto heartache than to let it go? That bed and breakfast was to be our getway, me actually embracing the whole Valentine's Day mood and doing something wildly romantic. Instead it was a charge on a credit card and an email breakup.

But on the bright side, it's over. The charge gone and the room now used. One more reason for me to move on and never think about the Brit again.

I just need that next boy to come by so I can get hung up on him. Any takers?
